Why carp?

The Carp eh?? What a fascinating creature. Just like us humans really if you think about it....they can be so moody, one minute they're up for it, the next......actually sounds like the missus!!!
It was Arthur Ransome who wrote "Swallows and Amazons" who said "Hooking a Carp is like being pulled out of bed by a Grapnell from an Aeroplane"!!! Sounds about right, its the adrenalin rush as the beast powers away and you, the angler, holds on for dear life!!

It is also true that Carp fishing does nothing for the ticker......all those long periods of inactivity, hours even days, then all of a sudden light a thunder bolt, your away and in to what is probably pound for pound one of the best fighting fish you can hope to....
