On the second week of the holiday me and my dad went fishing for goliath grouper in the gulf of mexico with capt chris haught. We boarded his boat in tampa and started of fishing for red fish with no luck so we went and collected some bait fish to catch spanish mackeral. The spanish were great fun on light gear putting up a good fight and changing direction in the blink of an eye then my rod bent right over as a mystery fish made a long run it took me all the way round the boat before surfacing it was a huge king mackeral of thirty pounds a real surprise. chirs said he had never seen one that big so late in the year. after returning the king we moved onto the goliath grouper using the spanish mackeral as dead bait. we both hooked up into one bait to give us two chances the first bait was lowered down and within seconds both sixty pound test boat rods bent over but we go broken off this happened another fout times when finally we managed to pull one out at one hundred and thrity six pounds after that we headed back home what a great day.

On the third week of the holiday we went fishing in the alantic for cobia, sharks and kings we went with ez catch out of port canaveral there are several species of shark including the alantic,hammer head,scoloped hammer head,bonnet nose,black tip and the ocasonal bull and mako we only had one small shark wich was a bonnet nose to my dad while i caught a croaker and a whiteing that was all we had that day but stll it was great fun.

If you ever go to florida or anywhere in america to catch goliath grouper remember it is a federal offence to take them out of the water.
