South African Hoodia Gordonii is probably one of the greatest discoveries of the last couple decades, though for a couple reasons it is getting a bad reputation. When you buy Hoodia you need to be sure that you are buying South African Hoodia Gordonii. There are many types of Hoodia, but only the plant of the gordonii genus contains the active appetite suppressing ingredient P57. Many of the other plants are being sold as weight loss aids, and those who purchase these rather than South African Hoodia Gordonii sometimes believe that all Hoodia is ineffective. The origin is equally important, while researchers have attempted to grow the plant in other environments such as the deserts of Mexico, Arizona and California differences in climate make these plants turn out with little to no P57. The best way to ensure that you are getting South African Hoodia Gordonii is to ask for a CITES certificate before buying.

South African Hoodia Gordonii is a very effective supplement for weight loss, but unfortunately there have been a number of scams involving fake South African Hoodia Gordonii supplements and sprays. These fake Hoodia products have been found in health food stores and online. Much of the time, companies use only a tiny amount of South African Hoodia Gordonii and then use either filler or another appetite suppressant. It takes at least 400mg of pure South African Hoodia Gordonii extract to have the desired effect, and mixing it with a filler to save costs leaves the consumer still hungry. Mixing South African Hoodia Gordonii with another appetite suppressant may still curb hunger, but it is usually just a result of the other appetite suppressant (usually green tea). More importantly, when you combine South African Hoodia Gordonii with another appetite suppressant you lose the best quality of Hoodia, the fact it has no side effects. For these reasons you should only buy pure South African Hoodia Gordonii.

He majority of weight loss pills are appetite suppressants. The majority of these types of weight loss pills are amphetamines of some type. Amphetamine weight loss pills work by stimulating the central nervous system, unfortunately this type of appetite suppression is not completely effective and comes with a lot of different side effects. People taking amphetamine weight loss pills commonly experience restlessness and insomnia, though the side effects can be much more extreme such as having an uneven heartbeat or a huge spike in blood pressure. The weight loss pills also have negative psychological side effects; for instance, listed under the side effects of phentermine weight loss pills were unusual thoughts and confusion. In some cases, the prolonged use of these weight loss pills can lead to full on psychosis. This leads into the next downside of amphetamine weight loss pills, addiction. Many people who begin using the weight loss pills for dieting purposes continue using them because they become addicted to the feeling of alertness and euphoria they give. Amphetamine based weight loss pills, in addition to making you more alert also release dopamine.
