hi neil,
good to hear from you. we have friends ina bivvy at the moment fishing and currently the wind is howling!! i personaly wouldnt fancy it!!
im like you and waiting for the better weather before i head out to fish, altho i cant wait to get out there and fish!!
its prob quiet on here because not many go fishing in such extreme weather???
do u have family and friends who can help with food? i overestimated big time!!! but on the plus side noone went home hungry.
i work in our village shop so was able to buy cold meats at cost thro our suppliers, quiche i bought from tesco and froze (would recomend a small chest freezer so can start buying bits now to spread cost) people dont really want mayo, pickles etc so that was a blessing!! bet your bored now.
anyway neil tight lines for your next fishing trip

Yea, Ireland for carp is a no no, ask any Irish angler. There is a few Carp lakes yea, but what im saying is there would be no point in coming over here especailly for carp when you have much bettter and more numerous carp fisheries in England, in fact im thinking about goig over there to catch some :)

Hey there, nice to talk to you. The fishing in ireland is great for roach, bream, pike and tench. On the river bann at right time of year i once caught 222 roach all about half pound weight, should put photo up. Some lakes local here you could get 100lb. of bream too on the righ day. For carp and the like Ireland is useless, hardly any carp fisheries, England be much better. The carp weight 35lb. and 34lb. France is dream fishing for carp id say

hi neil,
thank you for reply...nice to chat to fellow fisherperson!!
i think the weather should be good for you.
we cant go fishing for a week or so as we are in the middle of my daughters wedding and it has been stressful...but as of 17th oct she will be married and once we have got over it we are going to sit by the lake and chill out...not even bothered if we dont catch...just love the view and solitude a fish is a bonus!!!
i do enjoy feeder fishing....love to sit and concentrate on the end of the rod tip, theres not much like the rush wen your rod clatters off the rest and heads for the water!!! not lost a rod....YET.
but my ultimate is to hear a bite alarm screaming off....dont even care if its not mine...just love the thought of a fish being brought in..
think i sound a little odd ha ha...blame my other half and friends.
does your wife/partner fish??
