in reflection to my last blog post 'wary pike' i would like to ask a personall favour of anglers taking the time to read this post.

like i have described in my previous blog, pike are indeed begining to wise up to baits in my local stillwater and are becoming increasingly difficult to ctach. the fishery is also seemingn to produce only small numbers of fish, which could be explanatory to the rumour of otters being realeased illegally into the fishery, which in turn could descimate stocks.

are pike starting to wise up to just about any bait on your local water these days?
iv frequently been asked what i do in this situation, probably because i have fished a water in crook now for 4 years and have only blanked once. call it luck of the draw? i do lol,

basically i like to vary my baits, especially now the warmer months are settling in. i prefer however to save sea baits for the older months and present a more natural offering, like a roach or perch during the summer months. however… Continue
