whats the best way to fish for carp in the winter time (bait, rigs, etc)

I use single baits, bright colours to stand out more, glugged to get some scent out. Finding the fish is the real key though, if ur really struggling try a pva bag with an oil attractor in it; in the cold it stays near the bait but it still helps attract fish in. You might want to use a bright or white coloured paste rolled round a boilie or pellet.

If it's below 7 not many Carp are going to be feeding though, look for deeper water especially near snags or overhangs and if there's sunshine go to the side of the lake that gets it first, it should be a tiny bit warmer.....

In winter I stick to really fine floats and moving about till I find some fish, not everyone would agree with me but it works for me. Tight Lines.

it might be cold dont sit there bivvied up keep watch on the water cast to showing fish be ready to be on the move cast to fizzing spots u see like Andy L said pva best way about it really single baits . take variety of baits boillies maggots ,pop ups do well to. it is hard time of yr but every carp caught now no matter what weight is gd gd luck tight lines .


definately give maggots a go use korda maggot clips big bunch maggots do the trick even in pva bag with few pellets
