ok we all know that fishing is wonderful with the greatest experiences. however there must be a downside.
the kit bag breaking miles from anywhere
an 8 hour session in freezing rain without so much as a twitch
the superfast row boat zooming through your carefully set rig and costing you a hundred meters of line
the idiot that pops up and asks "do fish feel pain" scaring away that record chub you had stalked for 5 hours and which was just about to take the bait
being woken by your bite alarm to find its your mate tugging it

for me it is knots. i have been told i am good at them. i can successfully tie a 22 spade end. however other than the basic hook tying any other knot is going to produce a storm of bad language and a desire to kill someone before it is successfully completed. i can recall a knot failure other than right at the start but i would imagine that is even worse.

so come and share those moments of fishing life you feel we would be better off without.

I have been making flavors for my ground bait, M@M with dark brown suger molasses and maple syrup biold up a left to go cold and mixt in the cheap crum it works well and you can do the same with jam in biold water.

i had my first free half a day off of in about 3 weeks, thought id have a little fish in a freebie area (the fishing is never that good) but with pissed up twats on jet skis flying up an down stealing my feeders with there propellers its not going to be! wished i was fishing with 30lb wire trace right the way through or something that would have screwed up there fun. BAA HUMBUG! :)

on my river its the canoeists. ok yes we did fantastic at the olympics and our rowers should be congratulated, but that does not excuse having a group take up the whole width of the river to "race" each other for fun and totally ignore the 15 anglers jumping up and down waving like mad and shouting let us get the lines in first. most of the local rowers are fair and will make sure they use the far side of the river or allow time for rods to be reeled in but there are those that will charge straight through lines and not even apologise afterwards.

mmmm for me it would have to me the kids.

not that i mind kids caz i could still be classed as one but when your trying to concetrate and some anoying bugger comes up to you or shouts from the other side of the river
" caught owt?" it is rather anoying but when you fish a busy veneue i gess it somthing you have to put up with

good luck

hhhmmmmm yes. couple of weeks ago i had the pleasure of a 4 year old, no parent in sight (was fishing in a general park area, parents were there just at a distance totally involved in their picnic) turning up and start giving me instructions on how to fish whilst he poked around in my kit, banged my rod and generally got in the way. trouble was it was just as the bream shoal i was waiting for turned up - landed the 1st, lost the second through distraction, missed 3 bites trying to preserve my kit by which time the fish had continued merrily down the river.

ah well cest la vie, next time he'll get a grumpy git who will scare the willies out of him and maybe teach the parents not to let their precious little bundle interfere so much with adults.

heres my worst experiences....

1. When your tackling up for stalking carp, you have fish feeding in front of you off the surface, you fumble with hooks and line then cast out and it all goes quiet!
2. When your the only person on a river and someone turns up and sits down in the next swim down stream from you and renders your swim useless.
3,. When you start fishing and baggin' up and some kid twit comes running over every 30 seconds scaring the swim and spoiling the peace, this is followed by his/her's float landing about 3 feet away from your float!
4. when you need 1 BB out of the shot dispenser and about 12 come out all rolling around in your hand.

I'm sure theres lots more but I can't think at this time.

the worst part of fishing is packing everything away i think

Packing up at the end of the fishing session and knowing that it all has to be put away and cleaned when you get home.
