The enviroment agency is thinking about replacing the paper license with a plastic card version.Which rather than a new one every year you would pay your money onto the card that would be swiped through a scanner by a bailiff. What do you think paper or plastic licenses

I believe the enviroment agency should turn to plastic bechause it takes up less room and can be carried in a pocket. It also saves paper and other countries like canada have the system and it has been incredibly effective. Plus it is modern.

every thing else is on a card so why not the fishing license and it would stop it from getting damaged in the rain

I think the plastic licence would be great, it will cost less to produce as they wont have to issue everybody a new one each year, so that would make more money available to them to spend on our sport, plus it wont be as easy to damage ie: creasing, fading, water damage ect, and there wont be so much personal data veiwable on the card. im sure there are also lots of other advantages ive havnt mentioned. carl .

not sure if it would be that cost affective. how much would these scanners cost?
i think plastic would be well easy to copy as well. not saying they would work in the scanner tho.
