perch fishing !

hello all ... just wondering has anyone ever caught big perch on deadbaits before ? i normally fish with lives but fancy giving deads ago ... or am i more likely to be plagued by pike and eels fishing small deads ?

Hi mate i have had a good few Perch on deadbaits,A lake close to me holds some huge Perch and i have fished for them using small dead Gudgeon and Roach.You will get a few Pike but not too many Eels unless you nightfish.

hehe, nope i've fished deadbaits before and couldn't stop getting takes from Jack pike, i then switched over to lobworm and then caught a 2 pounder, hmmm must just be what they want in my local river i suppose!

G,Day ! Adrian , Perch Fishing ! Well I like to go with a lite spinning rod and lite sinners 6lbs line with lite trace and I have had a lott of fun with Perch and R'Trout and B'Trout , and the fox rods for Pike well a 2.5 lbs test is fun, or a 3.5 test too, But like the 2.5 test best as it give you more of a fight .and makes you feel good in the Pic after !

adrian i went to the river mole i was fishing for pike with live bait but i got a run and it was a 3lb perch if you go on to ben richersons photos you wll see it ..............

i think you may catch the odd perch on deads mate,but i,m sure you,ll catch more on lives

try googling "Steve Burke's perch fishing articles" he has some very interesting articles concerning deadbaiting for perch and he has caught some big stripeys
