aye use a wisky bottle fill it with sand an tap a hole in the bottom o it the pit sum bread in it and leave it in da side of the river or lake

two litre coke bottle , take lid off, cut around bottle 3/4 of the way up . invert the top bit inside the main bit of bottle and then peirce lots of holes all over it with a hot skewer.pop in something to weigh it down and tie a cord to the other end from the neck put some bread in . unless you really like whisky then try davey's method .lol.

Many years we used a brandy botttle filled it with sand and gentle made a hole in the end of it

i've used a jam jar in the past or better still an empty milk bottle and just tie a piece of heavy line around the top lower it down with some bread mash inside and bob's your uncle.
There seems to be thousands at the moment in clear shallow streams.
