well im a bit peeved at the moment! rain everywhere! the rivers are running like trains and it seems were not going to get a decent winter! and they recon its nothing to do with global warming! i carnt remember the frosts being around long enough to harden the ground for at least the last 2 years, its my birthday at the end of the month and i would like 4 weeks at -3 and no flippin rain "come on you pike"! guess the only way i will get that is to jump on a plane! whats the conditions like in your neck of the woods?

i've been 3 times and only caught fish on one of the sessions :(

I went today in the wind and the rain. Ended up with a bag of 23lb including a 3lb crusian. I am now completely converted to winter match fishing!

I'm lucky. The nearest lake to me costs £12 a year to fish and is stocked every year. It has mirrors up to 24lb and other very good fish like perch to 2lb 5oz. My wife's grandad also just happens to be membership secretary. I married the right woman!

Wow you lucky devil! lol my local lake called Newlands Hall is 9 pound a day at weekends! add the price of bait to that and your looking at 15 quid a day :o

Wet weather in winter means one thing - warm weather and if you can get on a water especially a river thats either fining down or got a backwater then a good catch is on the cards. Give me a wet 10c to a sunny -5c any day!

its actually been raining hard non-stop for 5 hours now, fields are flooded here and the rivers are up again, ummin and arrin about going fishing tomorrow down the river! what people reckon?

Could be a bit dodgy, especially if fishing the rivers, a lake might be a safer bet !
This is quite a good site for planning a trip.
