hi mate,i dont know where you heard the sod pod was crap,my mate has had one for 11 yrs or there about's the reason we all bought them is because we were fishing castle loch and the ONLY pod that didnt blow over was my mates.
we had the fox euro pod and the legs all rusted inside,no clues it was happening just collaped leg's ,
hey mate thats why we are all different mate, imagine if we were all the same,???? boring or what.
well take care mate, tight lines to all,,,,steve

Hi there,
If you have'nt already got a pod (sorry reply's a bit late)
I suppose it's down to what you can afford, there's some good pods on the market today from a timber camo x pod £199 to a not quite as good badger tackle cheapy but I use to have a solar super sod pod and although made of stainless steel so are on the heavy side, they are very well made and the excellent design means they fold down in one,all fully extendable, check out ebay for some great bargins.A second hand model with 3 rod buzzer bars will set you back around £50-£60.but they are built to last so probably the only pod you'll need. regards fenpiker.

I use an A-pod its only £45 and is a good sturdy lightweight design which is easily made and quick to erect. And a pod does'nt improve the fish you catch its the bait, postion, and rig that counts...:P
